[ARCHIVED] New Office for Carteret County Veterans Services to Better Serve Those Who Served

CARTERET COUNTY, NC (December 3, 2025) – Carteret County is excited to announce the relocation of its Veterans Services Office to a more visible and convenient location in Morehead City. The office will move from its current address at 3710-B John Platt Drive to 3615 Arendell Street, a space previously occupied by Crystal Coast Economic Development.

This move was made possible following the recent relocation of Crystal Coast Economic Development to the County Administration Building at 210 Turner Street in Beaufort. By repurposing this central property, the county ensures the Veterans Services Office now occupies a space that is better aligned with its public-facing mission. The new location offers larger individual offices for Veterans Service Officers (VSOs) and a more functional conference room, enhancing the office’s ability to better serve veterans. Additionally, the office remains close to healthcare facilities like the hospital and nearby medical offices, and it is now closer to the community college, providing better access for veterans exploring educational opportunities.

These improvements will allow for more private and comfortable consultations, providing veterans with the space they need for personalized service. The updated facilities will also help the Veterans Services Office better accommodate the growing needs of the veteran community.

The move will take place from Friday, Dec. 5, through Monday, Dec. 8, 2025. During this time, the Veterans Services Office will be closed for in-person services at both locations. Regular services will resume at the new location on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025. Veterans can begin accessing services at the new location starting on that date.

For more information or questions, residents can reach Carteret County Veterans Services at 252-728-8440 or visit the County website.
