CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (April 28, 2025) — Carteret County, in partnership with local municipalities, the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), and the Down East Rural Planning Organization (DERPO), invites residents to review and provide feedback on the draft Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) during a series of public meetings in May.
The CTP is a long-range, multimodal transportation plan assessing existing and future needs for roadways, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, transit services, and rail infrastructure. The plan identifies network deficiencies, proposes solutions, and establishes a shared vision for transportation improvements across Carteret County.
Four drop-in style meetings will be held at locations throughout the county, allowing attendees to view draft projects, ask questions, and submit comments. No formal presentations will be made, ensuring flexible participation.
