The Veteran’s Battlefield is a documentary that explores veterans’ challenges in North Carolina and how counties and residents can best support our veteran population. North Carolina is home to around 700,000 veterans and has the eighth-largest veteran population in the nation.

Carteret County Veterans Services informs, advises, and assists Carteret County veterans, their dependents, or survivors in obtaining benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs, state or local municipalities. Carteret County has a veteran population of over 8,000. In 2022, Veterans in Carteret County received over $73 million dollars in compensation and pension and $105 million in total expenditures.

After the documentary screening, a Veterans Services representative will be available to speak with attendees to discuss potential benefits available from the US Department of Veterans Affairs, state, or local municipalities.

NCACC is the official voice of all 100 counties on issues being considered by the General Assembly, Congress, and federal and state agencies. The Association provides expertise to counties in the areas of advocacy, research, risk management and education and leadership training.
