CARTERET COUNTY, NC (July 1, 2024) – Candidate filing for the Harkers Island Sanitary District (two seats) will begin at noon on Friday, July 5, and end at noon on Friday, July 19. Filings will be accepted in person at the Carteret County Board of Elections, located at 1702 Live Oak St., Suite 200, in Beaufort.
Candidates for the Harkers Island Sanitary District position must be at least 21 years old, a registered voter in Carteret County, and reside within the Harkers Island Sanitary District. A $5 filing fee is required, payable by cash or personal check.
This seat is nonpartisan, meaning no primary election is required. The election will be held during the Nov. 5 general election.
