CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (April 7, 2025) – Carteret County Veterans Services is transitioning to an appointment-based system, effective Monday, April 14, 2025, to better serve the over 8,000 veterans residing in the community.
This shift from primarily walk-in service to scheduled appointments aims to provide a more personalized and efficient experience for veterans, significantly reducing wait times and minimizing service delays. In 2024 alone, Carteret County Veterans Services successfully processed over 1,500 cases, highlighting the demand for their resources and support, which includes assistance with VA benefits, claims, and related services. The new appointment system will enable staff to dedicate more focused attention to each veteran, ensuring their individual needs are addressed thoroughly and effectively.
“Our goal is to provide the highest level of service to the brave men and women who have served our country,” said Brenda DuBose, Director of Carteret County Veterans Services. “By transitioning to an appointment-based system, we can offer more personalized assistance, reduce wait times, and ensure every veteran receives the attention they deserve.”
