CARTERET COUNTY, NC (December 15, 2023) – Carteret County is pleased to announce the successful completion of renovations to the courthouse parking lot. The parking lot, located at the intersection of Turner Street and Cedar Street in downtown Beaufort, is now open for public use.
The parking lot underwent a temporary closure starting on Tuesday, October 17, to facilitate repaving, parking realignment, and various enhancements aimed at improving safety and accessibility for visitors.
During the renovation period, visitors to the courthouse were encouraged to use nearby public parking areas, and some adjustments to schedules were anticipated. The County extends its gratitude for the community's patience and cooperation during this project.
