CARTERET COUNTY, NC (December 1, 2022) – Carteret County Sheriff Asa B. Buck, III will take the oath of office at 9 a.m. Monday in a public ceremony at the Carteret County Courthouse in Beaufort.

Retired Chief Resident Superior Court Judge John E. Nobles, Jr. will administer the oath to Buck. Then the sheriff, who was re-elected on Nov. 8, will request Nobles to administer the oath to sworn personnel.

In addition to the CCSO swearing-in ceremony, Carteret County Register of Deeds Karen Hardesty and Carteret County Clerk of Superior Court Ken Raper will take their oaths for their respective offices.
