CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (February 5, 2026) – Due to freezing temperatures expected overnight, most Carteret County Government offices and facilities will open at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6. Some secondary roads may still have icy or slippery conditions, and drivers are urged to use caution.

• The Leon Mann Jr. Enrichment Senior Center will open at 10 a.m.
• CCATS public transportation will start at 10 a.m. Riders should call 252-240-1043 to schedule a ride.
• County libraries will open at 10 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m.
• The Carteret County Courthouse will open at 10 a.m. Residents with questions about the court calendar may visit https://www.nccourts.gov/court-dates or contact the Clerk of Superior Court at 252-504-4400.
• County convenience sites will open at 9 a.m., a two-hour delay from their normal 7 a.m. opening.
