CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (August 1, 2025) – Coastal county leaders will gather in Morehead City next week for the organizational meeting of the North Carolina Coastal Counties Fisheries Coalition. The coalition aims to build a collaborative framework for addressing issues that impact the state’s commercial fishing industry and working waterfronts.
WHAT: Organizational Meeting of the North Carolina Coastal Counties Fisheries Coalition
WHEN: Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
WHERE: Crystal Coast Civic Center, 203 College Circle, Morehead City, NC 28557
The agenda includes:
- Adoption of a mission statement
- Discussion of the coalition’s organization and structure
- Member and legislator comments
- Identification of shared priorities and next steps
The meeting is being coordinated by Carteret, Dare, and other participating coastal counties. The coalition represents a new partnership focused on supporting the long-term sustainability of North Carolina’s fishing heritage and coastal economies.
