CARTERET COUNTY, NC (May 9, 2024) – In recognition of Older Americans Month, Carteret County Aging Services is hosting its 10th annual Senior Lifestyle Expo on Friday, May 17. The event, held at the Leon Mann, Jr. Enrichment Center in Morehead City, offers seniors and caregivers a chance to explore the many resources and services available in the county.
“Older adults are the heart and soul of our community,” said Kisha Williams, Director of Carteret County Aging Services. “This expo is a one-stop shop for them to learn about programs, healthcare options, and other support systems that can help them stay healthy, engaged, and independent.”
Carteret County residents can connect with local resources at the expo from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Over 30 organizations will be present, including county government departments, healthcare providers offering everything from stroke prevention to home care, senior assistance programs, nursing homes, in-home healthcare providers, funeral homes, insurance and real estate agencies, and the Area Agency on Aging.
The expo benefits the Friends of Aging of Carteret County, Inc., a non-profit organization that supports programs and services for older adults in the community.
