Welcome to the Carteret County Health Department! The mission of the Carteret County Health Department, through our responsive and professional staff, is to preserve, promote and protect the health of our community by preventing disease, protecting the environment and promoting healthy living.

Due to COVID-19 we have procedures to protect our patients, visitors, and staff from potential exposure.
- Please be aware that during this time we are limiting those who enter the building to patients and necessary guardians and family members.
- Due to the Governor's Executive Order, patients, visitors, and staff of healthcare facilities. must wear face coverings unless otherwise exempt.
- Upon entering the building, patients and will be asked COVID-19 screening questions.
- If your child is a Pediatric Clinic Patient and experiencing any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath (or difficulty breathing), chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and/or new loss of taste or smell, please call ahead to make arrangements for your child to be seen.
