Maternal Health

Maternal (Prenatal) Health Services offers pregnant women comprehensive, low risk prenatal care by family nurse practitioners, with referrals to local OB/GYN doctors or Regional High Risk Clinics as needed. Patients deliver at Carteret Health Care by physicians of Carteret OB/GYN Associates.


Services Provided:
  • An initial complete physical exam
  • Followup exams throughout the pregnancy
  • Health Education
  • Nutritional Services (see WIC)
  • Assistance applying to Medicaid
  • Adult Primary Care as needed
After the baby’s birth, the following services are available:
  • Postpartum visit
  • Newborn home visit
  • Immunizations
  • Family planning
  • Care Coordination for Children (CC4C)
