Adult Health

Carteret County Health Department provides a medical home to many county residents and welcomes new patients.  Staff provides health education, preventive, and primary medical care to adults with both acute and chronic illnesses like diabetes, elevated blood pressure, and cholesterol. We provide exams for pre-employment, school entry and for parents providing foster care.

Our nurse practitioners diagnose, treat, evaluate, write prescriptions, order lab work and make referrals to other medical providers as needed.

Appointments

Call the Health Department and ask to schedule an appointment. We use open access scheduling to provide you same day or next day appointment time. If you have been seen by another medical office (including the Emergency Room), it would be helpful to have those records along with a list of any medications you are taking.  We request that you bring your insurance information and proof of income to your appointment.

The Clinic schedules appointments Monday through Friday, 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4:30  p.m. Our office location is:
