Leon Mann, Jr. Enrichment Center

Overview

At the Carteret County Department of Aging Services, helping older adults remain independent is our number one priority. We strive to support, assist, and advocate for seniors and their families by offering programs and services that ultimately allow them to age in place and remain at home.

Located in Morehead City, the Leon Mann, Jr. Enrichment Center is a welcoming place for older adults over 50, caregivers, and the community at large. We place a strong emphasis on free health and wellness programming, featuring a fitness center, social events, computer instruction, and many other educational and recreational activities.  If you're aged 60 or better, a free nutrition program (lunch) and transportation to and from the Center are available.

Staying independent is the key.  Services for qualifying homebound adults aged 60+ include home-delivered meals provided free by caring volunteers.

Mission

To enhance the quality of life for older adults in Carteret County by providing services, programs, and activities that will maintain or improve level of independence, encourage personal growth and development, promote community participation, and address current and future needs. Special emphasis is placed on serving the socially and economically disadvantaged, low income minorities, and the frail elderly.

A Venue for Any Event

The center is perfect for weddings, meetings, family reunions and more. Available any night or weekend, we offer low rates that can meet every budget. Call and ask for a fee schedule and available amenities.
