The Carteret County Board of Commissioners is currently accepting applications from Carteret County residents who are interested in serving on the following volunteer boards and committees:
- Adult Home Community Advisory Committee
- Aging Planning Board
- Categories: At large 60+, Senior Tar Heel Legislative Delegate
- CCATS Advisory Board
- Categories: Business Community Representative, General Public
- Consolidated Human Services Board
- Categories: Consumer/Human Services, Psychiatrist, Consumer
- Cultural and Recreational Advisory Board
- Categories: District 3 (2), and District 4 County Commissioner Representatives
- Fireman’s Relief Fund Board
- Categories: Broad & Gales Creek, Harkers Island, Mill Creek, Marshallberg, South River/Merrimon (applicant must reside in the district)
- Juvenile Crime Prevention Council
- Categories: Nonprofit, Court Counselor Designee
- Nursing Home Advisory Committee
- Senior Center Advisory Board
- Category: District 1 County Commissioner Representative
- Town of Cape Carteret Zoning Board of Adjustments
- Category: ETJ seat (applicant must reside in the ETJ)

Prospective members must reside within Carteret County and demonstrate a commitment to invest the necessary time, attention, and dedication required to fulfill their responsibilities and actively contribute to the operations of the Board or Committee.
Applications can be obtained at the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners office, located at the Carteret County Administration Building, 210 Turner Street, Beaufort. Residents can also obtain them by calling (252) 728-8450, ext. 8002, or by visiting the county’s boards & committees web page at https://www.carteretcountync.gov/461/Boards-Committees.
The deadline for submitting applications is December 8, 2023, to be considered by the Board during their meeting on December 18, 2023.
